Hi there, I’m Norma and welcome to Flavour with Flair. Coming to you from Ontario, Canada, I am 30 years old and have been utterly infatuated with cooking and baking for as long as I can remember.
My earliest memories can be found in the kitchen with my Mommabear (with no recipes or cookbooks in sight). She taught me that the only formula you need in the kitchen is a strong understanding of flavor.
Needless to say, I am a passionate foodie who has played an active role within the culinary community since 2010. I am a culinary graduate from St. Clair College and have had the privilege to compete nationally within various pastry competitions. While I adored operating my own bakery for quite some time, my true obsession relates to freelance recipe development and food journalism – this is exactly why I decided to start this blog!
Like many other Food bloggers I will share recipes with you but authentic food journalism offers so much more than just that – I hope to share my restaurant experiences, tips and tricks for taking your recipes to the next level and my outlook on the trends that influence our cultivating food industry within Canada.
While I spend many hours hiding in the kitchen, it’s not the only thing that I do. I am married to my best friend and have an eccentric 4 year old daughter with another pumpkin on the way. If you haven’t heard by now, I am also a devoted Pug mom who shares all of her cooking with him (it can probably explain why he has so many rolls). When we aren’t at home we are trying out new restaurants, hiking the Canadian trails or playing video games.
